A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-2-44, relating to the removal of standardized testing in public and private schools; and providing for an effective date.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
(a) The State Board of Education shall cease the administration of all standardized tests and testing in public and private schools.
(b) This section shall become effective for the 2023-2024 school year and for every school year thereafter.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to eliminate standardized testing requirements in West Virginia public and private schools.
