in Wheeling, Ohio County, from Washington Avenue Exit 2B to
Elm Grove Exit 5, the "Doc and Chickie Williams Country Music
Royal Couple Highway".
Whereas, Doc and Chickie Williams were married in 1939 and are
known as "Country Music's Royal Couple"; and

country music careers, toured in over 6,000 towns throughout the
northeastern United States and eastern Canada, along with two tours
to Great Britain; and

Jamboree" in 1937, later known as "Jamboree USA", which aired on
Saturday nights and was heard from Maine to Florida and throughout
eastern Canada; and
Whereas, Doc Williams has received numerous awards such as
being recognized by the Governor of West Virginia in 1971 as "West
Virginia's Official Country Music Ambassador of Goodwill" and at
the age of 93 holds the distinction of being Jamboree USA's oldest
living member; and
Whereas, Chickie Williams, in 1949, put out the original hit
