A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §30-7-19, relating to
registered nurses required in operating rooms.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §30-7-19, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 7. REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL NURSES.
§30-7-19. Circulating registered nurses.
A registered nurse as defined in this article, qualified by
education, licensed, and experienced in operating room nursing,
shall be present as a circulating nurse in each operating room
during operative procedures.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide a circulating
registered nurse during every surgical procedure.
