A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §18A-2-14, relating
to the term of contract for a person hired as a coach in a
county school system.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §18A-2-14, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 2. SCHOOL PERSONNEL.
§18A-2-14. Coaching contracts.
If a person has served in a public school as a coach for at
least one year, a county board may contract with that person to
serve in a public school as a coach for a term of not less than one
nor more than three years.
NOTE: The purpose of this section is to authorize county
boards of education to enter into coaching contracts with persons
who have served as a coach in a public school for at least one year
for a term of one to three years.
