SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 20
(By Senators Unger, Kessler, Minard, Foster, Plymale, McKenzie,
McCabe, Stollings, White and Jenkins)
Congratulating the Special Olympics West Virginia team for
representing the state on TEAM USA at the 2007 Special Olympic
World Games in China.
Whereas, John Ware, Jr. and Carrie Dillon were selected from
Special Olympics West Virginia to represent the country on Team USA
as athletes; and
Whereas, Bill Furioli and Ginnie Molnar were selected from
Special Olympics West Virginia to represent the country on Team USA
as coaches; and
Whereas, John Ware, Jr. won a Gold Medal in the long jump,
earned a 4th place finish in the 100 meter race and a 5th place
finish in the 4x100 meter relay; and
Whereas, Carrie Dillon earned 4th place finishes in both the
200 meter race and 4x100 relay race, and a 5th place finish in the
long jump; and
Whereas,
Bill Furioli was selected through a very competitive
process to serve as a bowling coach, working with athletes from
several states to prepare them for the competition; and
Whereas,
Ginnie Molnar earned the distinct honor of being named
a track and field coach, working with athletes from several states to prepare them for the competition
; and
Whereas, Special Olympic athletes and coaches work hard to
reach their full potential and do so in a positive and uplifting
atmosphere; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates
the Special Olympics West
Virginia team for representing the state on TEAM USA at the 2007
Special Olympic World Games in China
; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to John Ware, Jr., Carrie Dillon, Bill
Furioli and Ginnie Molnar.
