A BILL to amend and reenact section five, article one, chapter
twenty-one of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine
hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to continuing the
division of labor.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section five, article one, chapter twenty-one of the
code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
§21-1-5. Reestablishment of division; findings.
After having conducted a performance audit through its joint
committee on government operations, pursuant to article ten,
chapter four of this code, the Legislature hereby finds and
declares that the division of labor should be continued and
reestablished. Accordingly, notwithstanding the provisions of article ten, chapter four of this code, the division of labor shall
continue to exist until the first day of July, one thousand nine
hundred ninety-five ninety-six, to allow for monitoring of
compliance with recommendations contained in the performance audit
and to allow for further review of the division by the joint
committee on government operations.
Note: The purpose of this bill is to continue the Division of
Labor for one year to allow for monitoring of compliance with
recommendations contained in the full performance audit and to
allow for further review of the agency by the Joint Committee on
Government Operations pursuant to the West Virginia Sunset Law.
