HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 24

Requesting the Joint Committee on Government and Finance to make a study of damage of property by wild animals.

Whereas, Many wild animals resort to finding homes and pasture at the state's many resort areas such as golf courses and personal pastureland for cattle; and
Whereas, Many gardens are destroyed every year by the growing population of deer and rabbits; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Joint Committee on Government and Finance is hereby requested to review, examine and study the status of property loss due to wild animals and develop ways that are feasible for restoration and reimbursement to landowners and make recommendations to the Legislature regarding the same; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Joint Committee on Government and Finance report to the regular session of the Legislature, 1998, on its findings, conclusions and recommendation, together with drafts of any legislation necessary to effectuate its recommendation; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the expenses necessary to conduct this study, to prepare a report and to draft necessary legislation be paid from legislative appropriations to the Joint Committee on gGovernment and fFinance.
