Supporting the federal increase of the minimum wage level."
Whereas, The federal minimum wage sets the income level for many people in low paying jobs; and
Whereas, Increasing the minimum wage will help people get off welfare; and
Whereas, Increasing the minimum wage will help low wage earners cope with the rising cost of living; and
Whereas, Those persons receiving the increased minimum wage will spend more money which will boost the economy; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That support is hereby expressed for increasing the federal minimum wage; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates send a copy of this resolution to members of the state congressional delegation.
