A BILL to amend article five, chapter five of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
by adding thereto a new section, designated section four,
relating to increasing salaries for certain defined public
employees one thousand dollars per annum at the beginning of
each of the next three fiscal years.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article five, chapter five of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section four,
to read as follows:
ARTICLE 5. SALARY INCREASE FOR STATE EMPLOYEES.
§5-5-4. Granting three consecutive per annum salary increases.
Every eligible employee, as defined in section one of this
article, shall receive an increase in his or her rate of pay in
the amount of one thousand dollars per annum pursuant to the
following schedule: (1) On the first day of July, one thousandnine hundred ninety-four; (2) on the first day of July, one
thousand nine hundred ninety-five; and (3) on the first day of
July, one thousand nine hundred ninety-six.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to grant public
employees, as defined as eligible employees in §5-5-1 of the code
of West Virginia and exclusive of the employees of county schools
and the Division of Public Safety, an annual salary increase of
$1,000 on July 1st of 1994, 1995 and 1996.
