A BILL to authorize the central West Virginia chapter, Purple
Heart Society, to erect memorials to purple heart medal
recipients at the Meadowbrook rest areas on Interstate 79 in
Harrison County; and commissioner of highways to approve
plans.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA CHAPTER, PURPLE HEART SOCIETY.
§1. Memorial to purple heart medal recipients authorized at Meadowbrook rest areas on Interstate 79 in Harrison
County.
The central West Virginia chapter of the Purple Heart
Society is authorized to erect at the north-bound and south-bound
Meadowbrook rest areas on Interstate 79 near mile post one
hundred twenty-three in Harrison County, suitable memorials to
persons from Barbour, Braxton, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison,
Lewis, Randolph, Ritchie and Upshur Counties and part of Marion
County, who have received purple heart medals. . The society shall
provide funding and construction of the memorials in accordance
with a plan approved by the commissioner of highways.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to authorize the Central
West Virginia Chapter of the Purple Heart Society to erect
memorials to area purple heart medal recipients at the
Meadowbrook rest areas on Interstate 79 in Harrison County.
