A BILL to amend article sixteen-a, chapter seventeen of the code
of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
thirteen-a, relating to requiring the even distribution of
concessions derived from facilities of the parkways
authority.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article sixteen-a, chapter seventeen of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
thirteen-a, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 16A. WEST VIRGINIA PARKWAYS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND
TOURISM AUTHORITY.
17-16A-13a. Even distribution of concessions required.
Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, all
moneys received pursuant to the authority of this article, as
revenues from concessions from any facility operating under the
authority of the parkways authority shall, for the purpose of
economic development, be distributed in equal portions to all
counties within a seventy-five mile radius from any portion of
the West Virginia Turnpike, regardless of the size of the county
or the number of residential inhabitants.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require the even
distribution of concessions derived from facilities operating
under the authority of the parkways authority to all counties
within a seventy-five mile radius of the turnpike to fund
economic development in such county.
