A BILL to amend article one, chapter five of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section twenty- eight, relating to the governor; and providing that the person next in line of succession to the governor shall also be known as the lieutenant governor of the state of West Virginia.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article one, chapter five of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section twenty-eight, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. THE GOVERNOR.

§5-1-28. Designation of lieutenant governor.

The official next in line of succession to the governor, as set forth in article seven, section sixteen of the constitution of West Virginia, shall also be known as the lieutenant governor of the state of West Virginia.





NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide that the person next in line of succession to the governor shall also be known as the Lieutenant Governor of the State of West Virginia.
