SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 27
(By Senators Tomblin, Mr. President, and Jackson)
Urging the Division of Highways to construct a highway between
Orgas, Boone County, and Marmet, Kanawha County.
Whereas, The United States Congress has provided $2 million to
West Virginia from the federal highway trust funds to study and
plan the construction of a highway from Orgas, Boone County, to
Marmet, Kanawha County; and
Whereas, Elected officials of Boone County support the
construction of a highway from Orgas, Boone County, to Marmet,
Kanawha County; and
Whereas, The construction of such a highway would contribute
to the enhancement of business in Orgas and Marmet; therefore, be
it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Legislature hereby urges the Division of Highways to
construct a highway from Orgas, Boone County, to Marmet, Kanawha
County; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the Senate is hereby
directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Secretary of
the Department of Transportation, the Commissioner of the Division
of Highways, the Secretary of the United States Department of
Transportation, United States Representative Nick Rahall II and
United States Senators Robert C. Byrd and John D. Rockefeller IV.
