SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 13

Minard, Prezioso, Helmick, Fanning, Edgell, Kessler, Sharpe,
Schoonover, Love, Hunter, Oliverio, McKenzie, Unger, Boley,
Sprouse, Tomblin (Mr. President) and Dittmar)
Declaring Wednesday, February 3, 1999, as Children's Day in West
Virginia.
Whereas, The welfare of our more than 430,000 children is
vital to the future of West Virginia; and
Whereas, For the good of our children we must be a society
willing to work together for their benefit; and
Whereas, It is our responsibility to search for opportunities
that will make a difference in our children's lives. Their well- being and educational opportunities will enable them to become
productive citizens; and
Whereas, Let us dedicate ourselves to our youth as we begin a
new millennium. Let us instill in them the drive, the optimism and
the imaginative creativity which has characterized this nation
since its birth; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That Wednesday, February 3, 1999, is hereby declared
Children's Day in the State of West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That as West Virginia moves into the new
millennium, let us all dedicate our resources to our greatest
natural resource, our children; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the appropriate officials of the
Coalition for West Virginia's Children.
