SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 19
(By Senators Whitlow and Anderson)
Congratulating the Mercer Christian Academy girls' basketball
team for winning the state Class A championship.
Whereas, 1994 was the first year that the Mercer Christian
Academy girls' basketball team participated in West Virginia
secondary school activities; and
Whereas, The Mercer Christian Academy girls' basketball won
the state Class A girls' basketball championship; and
Whereas, The Lady Cavaliers ended the 1994 regular season
with twenty-three wins and no losses; and
Whereas, Head coach John O'Neal and the members of his
coaching staff take great pride in leading their team to victory;
and
Whereas, The athletic ability of the 1994 Mercer Christian
Academy girls' basketball team, together with the outstanding
sportsmanship of each player, helped to make winning the Class A
championship a reality; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Mercer Christian Academy girls' basketball team is
hereby congratulated for an outstanding 1994 basketball season
and for winning the state Class A championship; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to Head coach John O'Neal andthe principal of the Mercer Christian Academy, Larry Deeds.
