SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 27

(By Senators Bailey, Wooton and Dittmar)


Recognizing March 27, 1997, as "Horse Industry Awareness Day".
Whereas, The horse industry is a twenty-five billion dollar per year business employing over six hundred thousand employees nationwide; and
Whereas, Nationally, the horse industry pays nearly two billion dollars annually in taxes to federal, state and local governments; and
Whereas, The promotion of the horse industry helps to enhance the image and awareness of the industry's impact on employment and the economy in West Virginia; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes March 27, 1997, as "Horse Industry Awareness Day"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate hereby recognizes the outstanding contributions of the horse industry and its impact on employment and the economy in West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the members of the board of the West Virginia Horse Council.
