A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §7-1-17, relating to creating a process by which voters may recall a county ordinance in a special election.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
A county shall, upon presentation of a petition bearing the signatures, written in their own handwriting, of not less than 15 percent of the voters of the last general election, hold a special county election to submit to the qualified voters of such county the question of a recall of any ordinance or code provision previously enacted by the governance of the county.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to create a process by which voters may recall a county ordinance in a special election.
