A BILL to amend article two-b, chapter forty-nine of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section seventeen, relating to requiring at least one employee at a day care center and an individual caring for three or more children to be trained for first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article two-b, chapter forty-nine of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section seventeen, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2B. DUTIES OF COMMISSIONER OF HUMAN SERVICES FOR CHILD
WELFARE.

§49-2B-17. First-aid training in child care facilities.
At least one employee in any child care facility and any individual who cares for three or more children on any one day of any given month is to be trained in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation for young children.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require that childcare facilities make available at least one person trained in first aid.
