A BILL to amend article six, chapter twenty-one of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section two-a, relating to providing that employees under the age of eighteen who work part-time have the right to decide whether to join a labor union.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article six, chapter twenty-one of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section two-a, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 6. CHILD LABOR.

§21-6-2a. Children employed part-time to have option to join labor organization.

Children under eighteen years of age, who are employed and who work less than forty hours a week, shall have the option to join, or refrain from joining, any labor organization.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide that persons under the age of eighteen, who work part-time, cannot be compelled to join a labor union.
