A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §20‑2‑42z, relating to creating a hunting license permitting crossbow hunting. .

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §20‑2‑42z, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 2.  WILDLIFE RESOURCES.

§20‑2‑42z.  Crossbow hunting licenses.

(a) Notwithstanding any other provision in this code to the contrary, pursuant to section one‑a of this article, the Director of the Division of Natural Resources may issue a Class CB license  entitling the licensee to hunt with a crossbow.  The director shall designate a separate season for crossbow hunting and identify which species of wild animals that may be hunted with a crossbow. The director shall also establish a fee for the license:  Provided, That the fee shall be at least $10.

NOTE:  The purpose of this bill is to create a hunting license permitting crossbow hunting.  .
