A BILL to amend and reenact §48-26-1102 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, related to continuation of the Family Protection Services Board.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That §48-26-1102 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 26. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ACT.
§48-26-1102. Continuation of board.
After having conducted a performance audit through its joint committee on government operations, pursuant Pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of this code, the Legislature hereby finds and declares that the family protection services board should be continued and reestablished. Accordingly, notwithstanding the provisions of said article, the Family Protection Services Board shall continue to exist until the first day of July, two thousand six twelve, unless sooner terminated, continued or reestablished by act of the Legislature.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the Family Protection Services Board until July 1, 2012, pursuant to the West Virginia Sunset Law.

NOTE: This bill is recommended by the Joint Committee on Government Operations for passage during the 2006 Regular Session.
