Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
ARTICLE 2. WEST VIRGINIA STATE POLICE.
§15-2-5a. Locality Pay.
In addition to any compensation set forth in §15-2-5(d) of this code, any uniformed member of the State Police residing and stationed in any county designated by the superintendent as a county in which a pay disparity exists shall receive locality pay of up to $10,000 per year payable at least twice per month along with the member’s regular salary. Such locality pay shall be prorated for any portion of the year in which the uniformed member of the State Police was not actively residing and stationed in the designated county or counties so designated.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide certain members of the State Police with locality pay to offset the high cost of living in certain counties.
