A BILL to amend and reenact §9-2-1a of the code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, relating to continuation of the department of health and human resources .

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That §9-2-1a of the code of West Virginia, 1931, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN RESOURCES, AND OFFICE OF COMMISSIONER OF HUMAN SERVICES; POWERS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES GENERALLY.

§9-2-1a. Continuation of the department of health and human resources.

The department of health and human resources shall be charged with the administration of this chapter. The department of health and human resources shall continue to exist pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of this code, until the first day of July, two thousand four five, unless sooner terminated, continued or reestablished pursuant to the provisions of that article.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue
the Department of Health and Human Resources until July 1, 2005, pursuant to the West Virginia Sunset Law.
