HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 44

Urging the Secretary of State to make all polling places accessible to the handicapped.

Whereas, For many years the Legislature has attempted to assure the expansion of access to facilities, services and programs to the handicapped as sound public policy; and
Whereas, The Legislature has encouraged the Secretary of State to make all polling places accessible to the handicapped; and
Whereas, There still exist some polling places that are not handicap accessible; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Secretary of State is requested to make all polling places in West Virginia accessible to the handicapped; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Secretary of State and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
