HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 46

(By Delegates Armstead, Webb, Harrison and Walters)

Requesting the Commissioner of the West Virginia Division of Highways to rename that certain bridge which crosses Elk River at Elkview, Kanawha County, on State Route 47 and commonly known as the Elk River Bridge, the "Elk River Veterans Bridge."

Whereas, Countless men and women from the Elk River valley, which wends its way through the heart of this great State, have honorably served the State and the nation in the armed forces of this country, many of whom have given that last full measure of devotion; and
Whereas, It is appropriate that these West Virginia heroes, in honor of their outstanding service, have a monument in the heart of this State in remembrance of their selfless contributions; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Commissioner of the West Virginia Division of Highways officially rename the Elk River bridge on State Route 47, crossing the Elk River at Elkview, Kanawha County, the "Elk River Veterans Bridge"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Commissioner is requested to have made and placed, at either end of the bridge, signs identifying the bridge as the "Elk River Veterans Bridge"
