HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 10

(By Mr. Speaker, Mr. Kiss, and Delegates Amores, Douglas, Givens, Mezzatesta, Michael, Pino, Staton, Varner, Faircloth, Harrison and Trump)

Designating January 29, 2002, as Disability Awareness Day at the House of Delegates and recognizing that the men and women of this State with disabilities are a priority of this Legislature.

Whereas,
There are approximately 250,000 West Virginians with disabilities ; and
Whereas,
West Virginia has the largest population of persons with disabilities per capita than any other state in the union ; and
Whereas,
People with disabilities are active and participating members of society ; and
Whereas,
People with disabilities have proven themselves through education and rehabilitation as dynamic employees in the workforce ; therefore be it
Resolved by the House of Delegates:
That January 29, 2002, is hereby declared as Disability Awareness Day at the House of Delegates; and, be it
Further Resolved, That West Virginia House of Delegates recognizes the efforts of West Virginians who advocate equal opportunity, equal access, and equal rights for West Virginia's citizens with disabilities.
