HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 23

Commemorating the passing of Robert E. "Gene" Goff, former Delegate, gentleman and statesman.

Whereas, Gene Goff was born on September 1, 1938, in Webster County, where he was a life-long resident and where he died at home on June 23, 1999; and
Whereas, A man of integrity, he served his community and gave unselfishly of himself during his political career, serving for two terms as a member of the House of Delegates from 1980 to 1984, and also served as chairman of the Webster County Democratic Executive Committee; and
Whereas, The passing of Robert E. "Gene" Goff should not go unnoticed; therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Delegates:
That regret is hereby expressed by the members at the passing of Robert E. "Gene" Goff, former member of this House of Delegates, gentleman and statesman, a man who loved his community and loved serving that community; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to Barbara Sawyer of Webster Springs, to his surviving brother, David of Nanicoke, Maryland, and his surviving sister, Wanda Stansberry of Cowen.
