A BILL to amend and reenact section fourteen, article one,
chapter twenty of the code of West Virginia, one thousand
nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to
continuation of the water resources section of the division
of natural resources.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section fourteen, article one, chapter twenty of the
code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION.
§20-1-14. Sections within division; continuation of the water
resources section.
Sections of wildlife resources, of water resources and of
law enforcement are hereby created and established within the
division of natural resources. Subject to provisions of law, the
director of the division of natural resources shall allocate the
functions and services of the division to the sections, officesand activities thereof and may from time to time establish and
abolish other sections, offices and activities within the
division in order to carry out fully and in an orderly manner the
powers, duties and responsibilities of the office as director.
The director shall select and designate a competent and qualified
person to be chief of each section. The chief shall be the
principal administrative officer of that section and shall be
accountable and responsible for the orderly and efficient
performance of the duties, functions and services thereof.
Pursuant to the provisions of section four, article ten,
chapter four of this code, the water resources section of the
division of natural resources shall continue to exist until the
first day of July, one thousand nine hundred
ninety-three ninety-
four, to allow for the completion of an audit by the joint
committee on government operations.
NOTE: This bill provides for the continuation of the Water
Resources Section of the Division of Natural Resources for one
year, until July 1, 1994, to allow for the completion of an audit
by the Joint Committee on Government Operations.
