A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated
§17C-15-7
, relating
to requiring certain trucks and buses to install mud flaps.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated
§17C-15-7
, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 15. EQUIPMENT.
§17C-15-7. Mud flaps on certain vehicles.
All duel-wheeled passenger buses, trucks, truck tractors, and
certain trailers, semitrailers, and pole trailers, respectively,
when operated upon any highway shall be equipped with mud flaps
sufficient to deflect any road or tire debris which may be picked
up by the rear tires of these vehicles and discharged rearward.
The Commissioner of Motor Vehicles may propose rules for legislative approval in accordance with the provisions of article
three, chapter twenty-nine-a of this code to implement the
provisions of this section.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require mud flaps on
certain trucks and buses.
