A BILL to amend article sixteen-a, chapter seventeen of the code
of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
thirty, relating to the West Virginia parkways, economic
development and tourism authority; transfer of the
authority's economic development functions to the
development office of the bureau of commerce, effective the
first day of July, one thousand nine hundred ninety-seven.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article sixteen-a, chapter seventeen of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
thirty, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 16A. WEST VIRGINIA PARKWAYS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TOURISM AUTHORITY.
§17-16A-30. Transfer of economic development functions.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this code to the
contrary, on and after the first day of July, one thousand nine
hundred ninety-seven, all economic development functions of the
West Virginia parkways, economic development and tourism
authority set forth in this article shall be transferred to the
West Virginia development office, as established by section one,
article two, chapter five-b of this code.
NOTE: The purpose of this article is to transfer, effective
July 1, 1997, the economic development functions heretofore
provided by the Parkways, Economic Development and Tourism
Authority to the Development Office of the Bureau of Commerce.
