A BILL to amend the code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §28-7-4, relating to
authorizing the division of corrections to charge a fee of up
to one hundred dollars to incarcerated offenders applying for
transfer under the interstate compact for the supervision of
adult offenders.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §28-7-4, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 7. INTERSTATE COMPACT FOR THE SUPERVISION OF ADULT
OFFENDERS

§28-7-4.
Transfer application fee.
The division of corrections may charge an application fee set
by the division, not to exceed one hundred dollars, to offenders applying for transfer out-of-state under the Interstate Compact for
the Supervision of Adult Offenders. The application fee shall be
retained by the division to offset the cost of operating the
interstate compact. All funds not expended at year-end may be
retained and carried forward by the division and used by the
division for the same purpose.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to authorize the division
of corrections to charge a fee, up to one hundred dollars, to
incarcerated offenders applying for transfer under the Interstate
Compact for the Supervision of Adult Offenders.
