SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 35

(By Senators Tomblin, Mr. President, Plymale, Jackson and Redd)

Requesting the Division of Highways conduct a feasibility study on upgrading Route 10 between Chapmanville and Huntington from a two-lane highway to a four-lane highway.

Whereas, The economic stability of Logan and Lincoln counties would be enhanced by upgrading Route 10 from Chapmanville to Huntington; and
Whereas, Citizens of Logan and Lincoln counties would have more opportunities for better, higher-paying employment counties by having a more direct route to West Virginia's second-most populous city; and
Whereas, Travel between Logan and Lincoln counties would be safer if Route 10 from Chapmanville to Huntington was upgraded; and
Whereas, Business and industry in Logan and Lincoln counties would have the potential for growth, providing additional jobs to the areas in between; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Legislature hereby requests the Division of Highways conduct a feasibility study on upgrading Route 10 from Chapmanville to Huntington; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Secretary of the Department of Transportation and the Commissioner of the Division of Highways.
