SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 54

Requesting endorsement of the Statewide Trail Plan.
Whereas, The State of West Virginia is in need of a Statewide
Trail Plan; and
Whereas, The Governor created the West Virginia Recreational
Trails Advisory Board; and
Whereas, The West Virginia Trails Coalition, through the
Statewide Trail Plan Committee, was charged with the preparation of
a Statewide Trail Plan; and
Whereas, The Statewide Trail Plan is now complete and ready
for public review and presentation to interested government
agencies; and
Whereas, The endeavors of the West Virginia Recreational
Trails Advisory Board, the Statewide Trail Plan Committee and the
West Virginia Trails Coalition should be recognized; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Legislature hereby urges endorsement of the Statewide
Trail Plan and thanks those professionals who have given their time
to complete this effort; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the Senate is hereby
directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Governor, the
Commissioner of the Bureau of Commerce, the Director of the
Division of Natural Resources, the Director of the West Virginia
Development Office, the Secretary of the Department of
Transportation and the Commissioner of the Bureau for Public
Health.
