SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32

(By Senators Oliverio, Prezioso, Ross, Jackson, Deem, Sharpe, Caldwell, Minear, Hunter, Wooton, Plymale, McCabe, Unger, Helmick, Fanning, Edgell, Anderson, Minard and Kessler)


Commending the public service of Larry D. Woodfork, former director of the Geological and Economic Survey.

Whereas, Larry D. Woodfork served the citizens of West Virginia from 1968 to 2002 as a state geologist with the Geological and Economic Survey and has served as Director for the past 13 years; and
Whereas, During his 33 years of continuous service, Larry D. Woodfork appeared before numerous legislative committees, councils, commissions and other state governmental entities. He provided expert, accurate and unbiased geological data concerning many facets of West Virginia's environmental resources, including appropriate utilization, conservation and protection; and
Whereas, The contributions of Larry D. Woodfork to the field of geology have been widely recognized nationally and internationally by numerous scientific and professional societies and organizations; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby commends Larry D. Woodfork, former Director of the Geological and Economic Survey; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to Larry D. Woodfork.
