SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32
(By Senators Plymale, Dempsey, Harrison, Fanning, Jenkins and
Chafin)
Expressing appreciation to Carl Ward for his contributions to
Ceredo-Kenova High School, his community and the State of West
Virginia.
Whereas, Carl Ward served as head football coach at Ceredo-
Kenova High School for 29 years, from 1959 to 1988; and
Whereas, During his tenure as head coach, Carl Ward achieved
an overall record of 244 wins, 61 losses and 1 tie; and
Whereas, As head coach, Carl Ward guided the Ceredo-Kenova
High School football team to 16 post-season appearances, 13 state
finals and 10 state championship wins; and
Whereas, Now retired, Carl Ward continues to serve as an
example of honesty and integrity, not only for his former students
and players, but for his community; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby expresses its appreciation to Carl Ward
for his contributions to Ceredo-Kenova High School, his community
and the State of West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to Carl Ward.
