House Bill 2827

[Passed February 28, 2019; in effect ninety days from passage. ]

AN ACT to amend and reenact §11-2-3 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, relating to removing the residency requirements for hiring deputy assessors.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:


article 2. assessors.

§11-2-3. Selection of deputy assessors.

The deputy assessors shall be appointed by the assessor with the advice and consent of the county commission, and may be removed at any time in the discretion of the assessor. Vacancies occurring from any cause in the office of any deputy assessor shall be filled by the assessors.
