Huntington, WV - Additional funding for Marshall’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, in the amount of $1.266 million, has been added to the base budget for the upcoming fiscal year. This amount, sought by Interim Dean, Dr. Nerhood, will be instrumental in addressing the issues related to the school’s LCME accrediting probation. Senator Robert H. Plymale said, “As Chair of the Senate Education Committee and member of the Senate Finance Committee, and as a representative of the fifth district, I am thrilled that we were able to secure this funding. This institution is a critical contributor to our area’s economic and public health; and I look forward to working with them to address the needs of our state and our region.” |
