Charleston, WV - Senator John Unger (D-District 16), Majority Leader of the West Virginia Senate, announced today that he will present a $40,000 Community Participation Grant to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department for the Animal Control Program. The presentation will take place Saturday, October 27, at 10:00 a.m. at the Animal Control building at 700 South Queen Street, Martinsburg, West Virginia. “This grant will ensure the continued protection of citizens and animals within Berkeley County,” said Senator Unger. “I have watched the actions of Berkeley County Animal Control employees coupled with the efforts of both Sheriff Kenny LeMaster and Captain Scott build a program that enforces our laws against animal cruelty, hoarding and aggressive animals. “I am honored to be a part of this excellent effort by working to support efforts like this throughout the Eastern Panhandle.” |
