CHARLESTON – The House of Delegates public hearing on legislation to address the water crisis will be carried live on television by West Virginia Public Broadcasting, which will also live stream video via its webpage: http://wvpublic.org/ The public hearing begins at 5:30 today in the House of Delegates Chamber. Prior to that, during a House Health and Human Resources Committee meeting at 4 p.m. today in room 215E, the CEO of West Virginia American Water Company and state and local health officials are expected to speak before the committee. Audio of both meetings will be streamed on the Legislature’s “Live” page, http://www.legis.state.wv.us/live.cfm The House of Delegates Health Committee, which will be the first House committee to consider Senate Bill 373, is hosting the public hearing jointly with the House Judiciary and Finance committees. The committees will also receive questions regarding the legislation by email – watercomments@wvhouse.gov View Senate Bill 373, the Water Resources Protection Bill. * While all members of House are focused on the issue of water quality, public hearing attendees are asked not to bring water samples. There are not water testing facilities at the Statehouse, and Capitol Security will not allow unidentified liquids into the building.
