ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING PROCEDURE AND SCRIPT

 

During the first committee meeting of each new legislature, joint committees adopt rules similar to those adopted by standing committees. Some of these motions are listed below in the sample script provided. 

 

After calling the meeting to order and establishing the presence of a quorum, the Chair recognizes the Co-Chair.

CO-CHAIR: Mr. Chairman/Madam Chair, I move that the following procedural rules be adopted to govern the joint committee in its deliberations.

 

1
